About Beryla Gann

Hello, everyone!  My name is Beryla Gann.  Try saying that out loud.  I bet you wondered if you said it right?  Beryla IS a strange name.  Here's how to pronounce it: Ber = Bear, yla = illa (like gorilla, villa, vanilla).  Bearilla.  Beryla.  No sweat if you get it wrong.

Now that that's out of the way, who am I?  I am a cosplayer, an amateur seamstress, and a fangirl.  I sew my own cosplays (as much of each as I can).  I go to conventions.  I love my fandoms.  This blog will detail my experiences.  I will post about the process of making a cosplay (with reference pictures) and about my experiences at conventions.


Now for some backstory!
A long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...I was introduced to the convention world...in 2008...Ok, maybe it wasn't THAT long ago.  I started cosplaying in 2009, but I didn't get the chance to go to many cons.  After I moved to upstate New York, I fell out of the convention world...until I moved back to Maryland.  In 2013, I started cosplaying again.  Using Amazon.com, I pieced together Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite.  I was happy with my cosplay...until I got to the con and realized that I wanted more.

In January of 2014, I bought my first sewing machine.  Using Google and YouTube, I taught myself to sew (I would ask cosplay friends for advice when I got stuck).  Since then, I have enjoyed making my own cosplays and attending numerous conventions.

This is me, out of a cosplay.  You probably won't see many out of cosplay pictures in the rest of the blog.
